Sr. Blanca Rivera, MC, celebrates 50th jubilee

GOLDEN JUBILEE—The Most Rev. Edward Rice celebrated a Mass of Thanksgiving and parish reception on Sun., Feb. 26, 2017, marking the 50th anniversary of Sr. Blanca Rivera, MC, as a Poor Clare Missionary Sister of the Blessed Sacrament. The three Poor Clare sisters minister in Sacred Heart School, Poplar Bluff, MO. Pictured were Fr. William Hodgson, pastor, Sacred Heart Parish, Poplar Bluff; Bp. Edward M. Rice; Sr. Celia Martinez, MC; Sr. Blanca Rivera, MC; Sr. Rocio Alcantar, MC, Regional Superior for USA communities; and The Most Rev. James V. Johnston, Bishop of Kansas City-St. Joseph, formerly of Springfield-Cape Girardeau, who was instrumental is establishing the sisters in Poplar Bluff. (The Mirror)
