May Our Lady be our companion this Easter Season, guiding us to deeper joy in the Resurrection of her Son.
That the joy and peace of the Risen Christ permeate our thoughts, our words, and our actions.
Authentic Christian love
As we remember the early Christian martyr St. Valentine, may we recapture the essence of authentic Christian love, expressed in our sacrificial love for our neighbor in need.
That Mary, the Mother of God, will protect and guide the faithful of the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau throughout the New Year! May Mary’s “fiat,” her “yes” to the will of God inspire each one of us in 2017.
As we celebrate the birth of Christ, may our hearts be open to receiving him.
May those who have been away from the Church find in this time of preparation an opportunity to “Come Home for Christmas.”
As we celebrate the month in which we mark the Feast of All Saints, we pray that each member of the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau will strive to grow in holiness through faithful participation in the Eucharist and Reconciliation.
As November is the month to remember our beloved dead, let us pray daily, “Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace, Amen.”
Through the intercession of St. Thérèsa, the Little Flower, may all members of the diocese seek holiness in the little ways of daily life.
Through the intercession Our Lady of the Rosary, may family bonds be strengthened and our homes be places of mercy and forgiveness.
As we celebrate the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross (Sept. 14), may each member of our diocese see in the setbacks and sorrows of life, an opportunity to “glory in the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, in whom is our salvation, life, and resurrection.”
As we celebrate the Feast of St. Vincent de Paul (Sept. 27), may the fire of charity burn bright as we minister to the spiritually and materially poor and suffering of our diocese.
As the Diocese marks its 60th anniversary, let us lift up the priests and religious serving the Church in Southern Missouri, asking God’s blessings upon their lives and ministries; God bless our families and the youth of the diocese so that each may be drawn into a closer relationship with Christ.
May Our Lady of Mt. Carmel bless the families of our diocese, protecting all of us with her motherly care.
During this month of our independence, let us pray with gratitude for the freedoms we enjoy.
