As we celebrate the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, (Sept. 14) let us never fear to draw close to the sign of our salvation. May the Cross be a sign of victory in the midst of all suffering, particularly those who suffer from the poison of racism or the wrath of Hurricane Harvey. May we find comfort in the Cross and the heart of our merciful Father.
For the safety and protection of all students as they return to school, particularly those away from home for the first time, may they be strong in the faith.
May Our Lady of Mount Carmel, whose feast we celebrate July 16, always protect us, guide us, and bring us closer to her son.
As we celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart during the month of June, let each of us come to know and be drawn ever deeper into His divine love.
May Our Lady be our companion this Easter Season, guiding us to deeper joy in the Resurrection of her Son.
That the joy and peace of the Risen Christ permeate our thoughts, our words, and our actions.
Authentic Christian love
As we remember the early Christian martyr St. Valentine, may we recapture the essence of authentic Christian love, expressed in our sacrificial love for our neighbor in need.
That Mary, the Mother of God, will protect and guide the faithful of the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau throughout the New Year! May Mary’s “fiat,” her “yes” to the will of God inspire each one of us in 2017.
As we celebrate the birth of Christ, may our hearts be open to receiving him.
May those who have been away from the Church find in this time of preparation an opportunity to “Come Home for Christmas.”
As we celebrate the month in which we mark the Feast of All Saints, we pray that each member of the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau will strive to grow in holiness through faithful participation in the Eucharist and Reconciliation.
As November is the month to remember our beloved dead, let us pray daily, “Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace, Amen.”
